This is similar to Cold DoT spells and sets the scaling apart from Ignite or Poison builds. This means, we can use Spell Damage to boots our DoTs. The Reap's DoT damage is 1463 physical DoT per second, which can be increased by Blood Charges (charges unique to Reap - they grant 15% more damage and 20% more Life Cost, 5 maximum) to 2560 physical Dot per second.īoth skills have a line that states: "Modifiers to Spell Damage also apply to this Skill's Damage over Time effect.". This means we have the base of 3363 Physical DoT DPS to work with - a decent starting point to be sure. What you may not know, is that the DoT portion of Exsanguinate is stackable up to three times, and its base damage is pretty solid (1121 physical DoT damage on level 20). P.s If you go for trickster mythic path - combining completely normal spell with snowball (1 lvl spell), get you at will ray spell without the need to pick elemental witch. The build is based on Exsanguinate and Reap skill gems, which have two damage properties - one is physical hit damage, the other is physical DoT damage. The only downside of an arcanist - you can't dump charisma, since you want to consume spells. And while arcanists get limited uses of rays, you still have best spell selection in the game (without loremaster shenanigans), and a magic system that made wizards completely broken class in dnd. You get 5d6 damage (witch gets 3d6 at level 9). If the only thing you care about is elemental rays, go for an arcanist. Since hexes grow in power (DC) with your witch level (plus you need level 10 to pick major, and 18 for grand hex), and you're not supposed to learn patron spells if you multiclass. Witches get pretty bad spell selection, that you mitigate with the help of patron, and endure it in order to get access to hexes. If you try to min max, then it's not the best idea. If you want to role play something, go for it. None of the skill tricks really stand out, which leads me to the default suggestion of Arcana 1/2/3, Perception 1/2, Religion 1/2, World 1/2, and UMD or Nature 1/2. Trickster is a fine choices for a Mythic path. If you really want to shoot Lightning and have a miserable Act 1, go for it. That said, you'll likely take AE at Mythic 1 for whatever element you chose. Generally speaking, more enemies are immune to Cold than Acid in Pathfinder. All Demons immune Lightning, and Brimoraks immune Fire. Fireball is better than Ice Storm, imo.Įlement choice is Acid > Cold > Fire > Lightning. Given the choice of Elements and Winter, I'd go Elements. If you're not going to do that, take Iceplant/Ameliorating/Aura of Purity. They also don't scale with Witch levels in any meaningful fashion, so bailing at 9 doesn't affect their efficacy. Those should be Cackle/Fortune/Protective Luck, as they can be setup prior to combat. You're going to be limited to three Hexes (2/4/8), though you can technically get four if you take Witch Wandering Hex as a Mythic ability. I'd argue it's one of the best ways to build a "full" Witch caster, up there with going Longbow LLG/HKS/EK. The actual level scaling (d6/3 levels) is low in comparison to Arcane Trickster's d6/2 levels, plus the 2d6 from Vivi+Accomplished. Please don't break those either.Īctually, it's the best way to scale Elemental Witch's Ray into end-game. Reddit's Rules of Order The entirety of the rules of Reddit still apply here.
